Poinsettia Provocation

provocation

prŏv″ə-kā′shən

noun

  1. The act of provoking or inciting.

  2. Something that provokes.

  3. The act of provoking or exciting anger or vexation.

For children a ‘Reggio Inspired’ provocation is an open ended activity that doesn’t have a prescribed outcome, instead it is designed to stimulate ideas, initiative and imagination for and amongst children, whether they choose to explore their ideas alone or in groups.

AS FOR OUR POINSETTIA WE SIMPLY LAYED OUT THE MATERIALS. THE CHILDREN EXPLORED WITH THEIR OWN PERSPECTIVE AND PAINTED. THEY TURNED OUT BEAUTIFUL AND ALL SO DIFFERENT. WE DID NOT SET RULES FOR THEIR PAINTING NOR DID WE SAY WAY ONE WAY WAS BETTER THAN ONOTHER. THEY WORKED ON THEM INDIVIDUALLY AND CREATED WHAT THEY PERCEIVED.

JUST A QUICK LITTLE PEEK IN WHAT WE DO
